About Us

Our Mission

Founded in 1915, the Transportation Club of Houston is rich in tradition as a partner in Houston’s growth to becoming the capital of commerce for Texas. TCH fosters the networking, interaction, and education of stakeholders for all modes of transportation. The organization strives to be excellent stewards of the community through education, scholarships, and volunteerism.

Our membership consists of executives in the transportation departments of major corporations, producers of logistics and transportation-related products and companies which provide the transportation of cargo by motor, rail, water and air. The Club is one of the largest in the country with more than 300 Houston-area professionals who meet, learn and network.

Because the Club strongly believes in assisting students who are pursuing degrees in logistics or transportation, it contributes thousands of dollars annually towards scholarships at accredited institutions of higher learning. Funding is primarily raised through a bi-annual golf tournament in the spring and fall.

Mission Statement ca. 1995:

To be a Quality Organization for our members by enhancing industry and community value through education and transportation related opportunities.

President's Message

I’m honored to serve as President of this incredible organization. Since joining TCH in 2019, I’ve been inspired by the impact we continue to make, not just in our industry, but in the lives of future leaders. One of the milestones I’m most proud of is the growing support we’ve provided to students through our scholarship program. These contributions aren’t just financial; they’re investments in the future of transportation.

Being part of local transportation clubs has always been deeply important to me. These organizations are where ideas are shared, relationships are built, and people come together to help one another succeed and solve industry issues. Our club is no exception. The spirit of community, service, and professional growth is alive and well and it’s what keeps us strong.

As we look ahead, I encourage each of you to stay engaged, get involved, and continue the legacy. Together, we will keep raising the bar, opening doors for the next generation, and building a network that truly moves people forward.

Sincerely,

Richard Shook
